"what some of our guests have said"

  • We had a wonderful time staying with Jan and Jeff! From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. They made us coffee when we arrived late, packed breakfast to go when we left early for kayaking, offered to store our luggage while we were on the Kepler track, ...the list goes on. The home cooked breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed speaking with both. Highly recommend to anyone staying in Te Anau.  -  Esther - Seattle

  • This Airbnb was superb. Jan greeted us at the door and immediately offered us a cup of tea and biscuits. The room was excellent with a lovely bathroom and she even offered us an extra room for our suitcases, so we could sort them out. We weren't sure of where to eat that evening, so Jan readily suggested various restaurants and even telephoned to make a reservation for us. She also suggested that the 30 minute film showing at the local cinema made by local helicopter pilots and technicians from Lord of the Rings and about the Fiordland National Park was well worth a view and she wasn't wrong. In fact, it was so good that we bought the DVD! Thank you Jan. The bed was brilliant as was the shower and then came a wonderful breakfast prepared by Jeff and we chose what we wanted - eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, fresh fruit, toast and spreads, tea or coffee. Absolutely superb. Why were we only spending one night here? It was delightful and cannot come highly recommended enough. - Richard Horley UK

  • The perfect place to stay at in Te Anau!! Just a little bit outside of town, the place is very quiet and the house is just beautiful, as is the room! Very clean and cosy! Jan and Jeff were wonderful hosts, they made us feel very welcome and helped us organising our tours. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!!! Like in a 5-star hotel! We highly recommend this place to everyone!!- Simone - Switzerland

  • A real home from home experience! Jan and Jeff were so welcoming and genuinely lovely people. They are both passionate about the area and their country and were full of interesting information. They were also extremely helpful in suggesting trips! It's a beautiful, peaceful spot - ideally located to explore the area! The garden is a delight and the breakfast top notch! Can't praise Jan and Jeff highly enough! - Alison - Australia

  • Jan and Jeff were fabulous hosts - by far the best we had in our 3 months in NZ. The room was very clean and comfortable and we had a lovely welcome basket. The communal area was great - with a large TV and selection of DVDs. Jeff's breakfasts were delicious. Jan helped us arrange our Doubtful Sound cruise and was always available for a chat over a cup of tea. We loved our stay with them. Eion - London
